Elmsford, N.Y. — Jonard Tools has just rolled out two new fiber optic testing devices, the Singlemode Fiber Optic Launch Cable, 1000 m, SC/UPC-LC/UPC (FLC-1001), and the Singlemode Fiber Optic Launch Cable, 1000 m, SC/APC-SC/UPC (FLC-1005) to eliminate dead zones for OTDRs.
These two Fiber Optic Launch Cable devices are specifically designed to eliminate the dead zones in reflectometric tests using an OTDR. The devices are designed with a unique compact housing that holds 1,000 meters (3,281 ft) of fiber. The difference between them is that the FLC-1001 is terminated with an SC/UPC connector on one side and an LC/UPC connector on the other side. Meanwhile, the FLC-1005 is terminated with SC/APC connector on one side and an SC/UPC connector on the other side. Polishing types are color-coded for quick and easy identification of the launch cable.
Each Fiber Optic Launch Cable device comes with a shoulder strap making it perfect for on-the-go use. The two Fiber Optic Launch Cables also come with a convenient magnet on the bottom of the housing that allows for quick and easy mounting onto a fiber rack.
