Potter Launches New Intelligent Conventional Sensors and Bases

Potter Electric Signal Company announced its new line of D-TECT Intelligent Conventional Sensors and Bases. Built with the same technology as Potter’s recently released D-TECT Intelligent Addressable Sensors and Bases, they were developed to better address nuisance alarms, improve ease of installation, and provide more efficient testing and maintenance.

Featuring Dynamic Threat Emergency Communication Technology, D-TECT sensors achieve adaptive response and reduce false alarms, while a patent-pending photo chamber accurately detects fire and rejects nuisance sources like cooking or dust. This technology intelligently acclimates over time to the surrounding environment, further reducing unwanted activation.

“The D-TECT series brings the best of intelligent fire detection technology, combining adaptive threat response with the simplicity and reliability Potter is known for,” said Abe Lizama, Product Manager for Potter Fire Safety. “With its dynamic response system and innovative features, D-TECT is set to redefine fire protection across various building applications.”

Key Features and Benefits:

Dynamic Threat Response: Adaptive sensing technology reduces false alarms while ensuring accurate fire detection, even in challenging environments.

Wide Coverage: Heat sensor provides up to 70ft of coverage, reducing the number of sensors required and lowering installation costs.

UL 268 7th Edition Compliant: Ensures greater fire sensitivity while remaining immune to deceptive environmental factors.

Backwards Compatibility: Fully compatible with previous Potter conventional devices, allowing seamless integration with existing systems.

Low Profile & Easy Installation: Less than 2 inches of depth and compatible with common junction box styles for easy installation.

5-Year Warranty: Industry-leading warranty for long-term reliability and performance.

Product Availability:

U.S. Markets: Customers in the U.S. will have access to the four combination models, including the PC-2P6B (photoelectric smoke detector with 6” base), PC-2H6B (heat detector with 6” base), PC-2PH6B (combination smoke and heat detector with 6” base), and PC-2PN6B (photoelectric smoke detector without magnetic test and with 6” base). The PC-RA remote annunciator will also be available in the U.S.

International Markets: Outside the U.S., customers will be able to purchase the individual detector head models (PC-2P, PC-2H, PC-2PH) and their corresponding bases (PC-4DB and PC-6DB), as well as the PC-RA remote annunciator.
